Supporting you to work better with young people

A white non-binary teenager laughing with an older Black woman in a professional setting.

Working with children and young people can be rewarding and fulfilling, but it can be difficult sometimes too. Whether you want to support a young person when they open up about their mental health or want to better involve them in your work, it's not always easy to know what to do.

We're here to offer you the resources you need so you can be there for the young people in your life, and help to amplify their voices in the services and decisions that affect them.

Together, we can make a difference.

Learning from Black young people about their experiences with mental health

A group of young people discussing their poem ideas in the workshop.

We need to be better at supporting Black and minoritised young people with their mental health, and understanding the factors unique to their experience.

That's why we collaborated with Poetic Unity to facilitate a workshop with Black young people that explored how adults can respond well to them talking about their mental health.

Find out more about what we learnt, and watch performances of the final poems that were produced.
