Challenge event participant - she/her Sofia Elaheebocus

Sofia's fundraising journey What will you be doing and when?

I have previously done the 10km Winter Walks for Mind and YoungMinds in January 2025, however in September, I took on a skydive for YoungMinds which I was very excited and nervous about! I wanted to do something that would really challenge me and push me out of my comfort zone for an excellent cause!

Why are you fundraising for YoungMinds?

I’m fundraising for YoungMinds as I have previously struggled with my mental health and know so many others who have as well. I believe it is vital everyone has access to mental health support and everyone has somewhere they can turn to if they need, so nobody feels as if they have to suffer alone.

Why is mental health important to you?

Mental health is very close to my heart as I and some of my close friends and family have struggled with their mental health. Everyone has mental health and I’ve seen the difference early intervention and support can have for children and young adults, and everyone deserves that kind of support.

What three words describe you best?

  • Supportive

  • Kind

  • Understanding
